Coronado Ferry Landing - Recycling Works!

on .

thumb_CFLrecyclingCoronado Ferry Landing is a committed participant in the first Green Business Challenge on the west coast. They have been working with EDCO, an environmental consulting company, since 2009 on their waste management program and have prevented several tons of trash from entering the landfill. In 2009, they remodeled their restrooms to have water conserving devices on all fixtures.

Denise Schwab from Ferry Landing reports, “The Challenge has been fun because while filling out our scorecard, we took another look at what we do on a daily basis.” This helped the shopping center come up with a great idea to save more money and energy by installing timed lighting features in restrooms which will be a proposed conservation effort for 2012!

The folks at Ferry Landing are excited about continuing with their sustainable efforts throughout the year and recognizing resource savings and cost savings as well.

Their message to all the businesses out there struggling with what to do to become sustainable: “RECYCLING WORKS!”

Whether you come by car, boat or aboard the San Diego Bay Ferry, Coronado Ferry Landing is the perfect place for your day trip!  Located in the City of Coronado, it has a charming collection of shops, art galleries, fine restaurants and casual eateries surrounded by swaying palms, waterfalls and Coronado's best skyline view of downtown San Diego.
