Vending Machines

Most don't think that vending machines are energy hogs, but they consume a good amount of energy because they are on all day and even nights and weekends when no one is there. A vending machine runs 24/7 and costs ~$300/year in electricity. Installing a Vending Miser can cut energy by 46% and save ~$130/year in energy costs.

HOW TO ACHIEVE CRITERIA:

  1. Talk to the supplier of the vending machines about getting energy efficient machines or installing a device on the current machine to reduce energy use.
  2. If your beverage contract will expire soon, require the use of ENERGY STAR machines in your next proposal.
